Caroline Meets Santa

On Sunday we were driving home from church, ready to put Caroline down for a nap, when a policeman was blocking our street. We don't live in the best part of St. Louis so we were a tiny bit worried and asked what was going on. To our surprise, he told us that Santa was in a horse drawn sleigh on our street. Much different than we expected :-) So, we smiled, got out of the car and waited for him.

We thought it was funny that Santa chose to drive through seminary housing on a Sunday morning when NO ONE was at home, so I think we were one of the only ones to see him. He stopped just for us and a friend took a picture for us. Caroline was a bit timid and started to cry a little bit. She loved the horse, but didn't want to get too close. Then all she could talk about for days was the "Hose!" (aka Horse). We had never told her about Santa, so I don't think she really understood why he was a big deal. But it was certainly cute and an unexpected little fun part of the day!
