Whenever we would talk about going to Jackson Hole, people familiar with the area would tell us not to miss Jenny Lake. So we didn't miss it and I'm glad for it! It was absolutely gorgeous with great trails to hike.
We took a boat across the lake to get to the trails.
Jenny showing us her lake, Vanna style :-)
There were several resting spots with spectacular views. We enjoyed each one.
Ok, this is Caroline's friend, Jack. We met him when he and his mom sat right in front of us on the airplane from Salt Lake City to Jackson. He and Caroline couldn't help but be instantly enamored with each other and they played and giggled the whole flight. Then our first night out to dinner he and his family were there!! They played and played while we ate. Then on this hike, guess who we saw at Inspiration point! Jack and his family! We saw them another time in Moose getting some dinner. It was the weirdest and most fun little surprise!
Bruce and Karen at Inspiration Point.
While the rest of us were tired from the hike, Caroline was literally jumping and dancing around. She loved it and had no trouble hiking!
These little chipmunks were so cute and a hit with our girls. The chipmunks had no fear and would walk up to the girls and just stand up and stare at them.
Jack again
On the hike down, trooper David who carried Elizabeth Joy the whole way, carried her as she napped. She was out the whole way down... what a way to travel!
After we got home, got rested and cleaned up, the adults went to a very nice dinner at Couloir, high on a mountain. We rode a gondola up to the top. The view was gorgeous. It was one of the fanciest and delicious dinners I will probably ever have. I don't know all the fancy names for everything, but I had peaches and cheese as an appetizer, buffalo with quinoa and blackberries as the main course, and some tiny delicious desserts. When Bruce got the bill, we all clapped and cheered and sang praises of the amazing food and view to make it a little less painful ;-)
Happy 35th wedding anniversary!
It was a great day!
