A hot week in St. Louis

Mimi, my mom, came to visit us this week. She drove with me from Birmingham after - get this - breaking her foot and getting chemo the day before we left. Wow, the fact that she even wanted to still come blew me away.

We did things like sit inside and think of all the fun things we could do if it weren't 110 degrees outside and if mom didn't have a broken foot. Then we decided indoor activities without tons of walking was the way to go. So we also went to the History Museum, which we hadn't been to yet. I was surprised at how much fun Caroline could have there! They have a kids activity bag to check out to make the things to see more interactive for the little ones.  The picture below is of Caroline dressed up fancy like the patrons of the World's Fair would have been. Then we had a picnic lunch there.
Mom took Caroline to her very first movie in the theater! They saw Winnie the Pooh (or Whitney the Pool, as she called it) and ate popcorn and then went out to eat for lunch! Mom said that Caroline did a great job and had so much fun.
Finally, Dad drove up to join the fun and we decided to go to Grant's Farm in 108 degree weather. We all melted and hopped from one shady spot to the next, but it was lots of fun!

Caroline had another first - riding a moving animal on the carousel. She has only wanted to sit on the bench seats before, but this time she rode a horse! I was so proud of my big girl. She was scared and held tightly on to me, but was laughing the whole time. If I tried to let go of her, her death grip got tighter.

We saw the Anheuser Busch Clydesdales while we were there too. They are so pretty and huge.
It was super hot, but a fun adventure.
