Mary Beth and I have found a lot of joy lately watching Caroline's personality in motion. She's quite the nurturer. Whenever a baby or another child gets hurt, she either runs over there to check on them, or else she stands there with a pained look on her face and says, "Oh no!"
Several hours each week, there are at least two other little ones in our home - one boy and one girl, both about 12 months. Our friend and neighbor watches C whenever I'm in class (when I'm not in class, I'm at home). She tells Mary Beth and me how Caroline will often mimic what she does, like grabbing their sippy cups and trying to get them to drink, or she'll grab a toy for them to play with. She also likes to put pacifiers in their mouth, even if they don't want them.
There have been countless times when I've found Caroline in her room, either swaddling her snoopy doll or soothing one of her baby dolls. Her new favorite thing is to walk around the house with a doll swaddled in a blanket (granted - the swaddling isn't perfect :), and quietly hum a song to get the doll sleepy. Then, she'll squeeze the doll through one of her crib railings and reach one arm inside to pat it gently. She will then walk out of the room and shut the door.
Also, whenever there is a beebee (baby) in sight (keep in mind, some smaller toddlers her own age are considered beebees), she rushes over to it and holds out her arms. She REALLY wants to hold one all by herself.

so so sweet. I would love to be a fly on the wall and observe these things. She is doing these things because you two are such great role models.
this is so sweet - she is going to be such a great big sister! and i can just see lu and caleb getting pacifiers shoved in their mouths. :)
she is going to LOOOOOVE being a big sister. soooo cute.
It's sweet how even when she sees me without Zoe, she asks about the beebee! Someday she'll be old enough to hold her... and at that point Zoe probably won't want to be held!
How fun! What a sweet girl she is! She is getting ready to be a big sister it sounds like! Miss ya'll so much!!!
