St. Louis Race for the Cure

SusanKomen07St Louis
David and I "ran" the Race for the Cure this morning. We had been training and were excited to run our first 5k together. However, when we got there, this was how the race was (photo above). It was very difficult to actually run for the first 3/4th mile. We did a lot of dodging, getting separated, etc. 71,000 people showed up to participate in the race. We think we'll find another race to actually run the whole way together, but we were really glad to be part of this event! It was neat to see everyone's signs on their back for who they were running for. We ran in honor of my mom and my aunt, Renee. Reading all the names and seeing pictures of all the people with breast cancer kept the event very much in perspective.

I heard this morning that St. Louis isn't the largest city to have a Race for the Cure, but we are the largest Race there is! Way to go, MB!
